Salvo, NC Oceanfront Vacation Rentals
On the Outer Banks

If you want a laid-back atmosphere for your next beach getaway, try a vacation in Salvo, NC! We promise, you will be completely at rest here. Our beaches are pristine and unspoiled, and there are no high-rise buildings. Dr. Beach has voted this area as one of the Top 10 Beaches in America 2008, and with good reason. Water sports are always a good pastime here, including the ever-popular Outer Banks sport, kiteboarding. Rental agencies offer Wave Runners and Jet Skis, as well as traditional water sport gear such as canoes and kayaks. Hatteras Watersports, www.hatteraswatersports.com, offers these, as well as a small beach, volleyball court, picnic area with grills, and restrooms with hot showers. It’s a perfect place to spend the day in Salvo. You’ll become well acquainted with the area during your stay here. The town is so small, in fact, that it even boasts one of the smallest post offices in the country: the Salvo Post Office. Its former postmaster, Edward Hooper, is often seen around, and will gladly give you a history of the post office and its surrounding areas. It really is worth making the short trip to see this tiny, yet nationally renowned establishment. And don’t forget that the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse are just a short drive away. Here you’ll find serenity and history in North Carolina’s natural coastal state. The surrounding areas of the Outer Banks are full of unique character, and are all within a short driving distance of one another. Ocracoke is on the southern tip of the Outer Banks, and a great little beach village with the same laid-back atmosphere as Salvo.
